DECs (Display Energy Certificates) are another example of recent government measures to increase energy awareness. These certificates must be displayed in any building occupied by a public authority or an institution providing a public service, in order to show the energy consumption recorded in a building's meters. DECs are accompanied by a report containing cost effective recommendations for improving the building's energy performance, such as the integration of LZC technologies. Compatible with their impressive portfolio of condensing, high efficiency appliances, also offered is Andrews' SOLARflo solar thermal water heating package, providing a complete low carbon solution to suit most refurbishment projects.
SOLARflo
SOLARflo is Andrews' complete ready-to-fit solar thermal water heating solution for commercial applications. It comprises glazed flat plate solar collectors, roof mountings, control unit, pump station, expansion vessels and first fill of water/glycol solar heat transfer fluid. As well as the more traditional flat plate panels, Andrews has recently launched its evacuated tube solar collectors in order to fulfil different specification requirements and for buildings with limited space for collectors. The SOLARflo package can be installed with an Andrews primary heating appliance such as the MAXXflo for maximum energy saving benefits.
MAXXflo Condensing Storage Water Heaters
The MAXXflo stainless steel condensing commercial water heater won the Queens Award in 2007 for Innovation. The first product of its kind on the UK market, its unique design enables high performance, low energy consumption and low running costs to be combined with low carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions.
MAXXflo also has a built-in anti-Legionella function, which uses closely controlled water temperature and carefully regulated water flow to contribute to improved health and safety. Tank options available are 200 and 300 litre capacities with four output sizes from 30 to 120kW. With a small footprint and multiple flue options, the MAXXflo is easy to manoeuvre and offers a variety of installation options.
Paramount Two
The Paramount two range of wall hung high efficiency condensing boilers uses the very latest in heating technology by incorporating the proven aluminium/ silicon alloy heat exchanger, which comes with an industry leading lifetime guarantee. This boiler delivers advanced ultra low NOx performance of less than 20mg/kWh, exceeding Class 5, and up to 109% net energy efficiency. Paramount two is now available in five outputs ranging from 30 to 115kW. Heating and domestic hot water requirements are controlled by the user friendly Integrated System Regulator (ISR) control system, which offers full text display of operation status with inbuilt weather compensation, summer/winter changeover and time control facilities.
