Nursing home boosts energy efficiency of hot water delivery with Andrews Fan Flued Water Heater

Edgbaston Beaumont in Birmingham has installed an Andrews RFF 190 Fan Flued water heater to improve the reliability of the hot water supply at the nursing home and its energy efficiency.
 
Edgbaston Beaumont, operated by UK care provider Barchester Healthcare, requires a high supply of reliable hot water to meet the needs of its 28 residents throughout the nursing home's various independent living properties and within the main building.

When Barchester Healthcare took the decision to replace the existing water heater at Edgbaston Beaumont as part of wider efficiency measures, careful consideration was required due to the nature of this picturesque building and, in particular, its specific flueing requirements.

"A conventional flue run might have proved difficult to install at an older building like Edgbaston Beaumont,” explains contractor Scott Wright of Trinity Heat Care in Birmingham. "We recommended the RFF 190 Fan Flued water heater as it has a fan-assisted flue for flexible siting, making it the perfect solution for this nursing home. Equally importantly, the easy installation process also meant no disruption for residents and staff.”

With residents and staff now benefitting from plentiful hot water, Edgbaston Beaumont Nursing Home welcomes the prospect of long-term carbon savings and lower running costs in the months ahead.

The RFF 190 offers flexible siting due to a fan-assisted flue, and minimised maintenance thanks to a factory installed Hydrojet® Sediment Reduction System. Automatic ignition comes as standard for easy management. It is available in 190 or 280 litre capacities
