Andrews Water Heaters for prestigious Bloomsbury Hotel

Andrews Water Heaters has supplied a further two Hi-Flo gas-fired storage water heaters for The Doyle Collection's prestigious Bloomsbury Hotel, London, bringing the total installed over the past six years up to nine. The water heaters supply domestic hot water to the 150 luxury bedrooms located on eight floors as well as to the kitchens for the hotel's restaurant, The Landseer British Kitchen.

The Bloomsbury Hotel has recently been refurbished to an extremely high standard as part of a multi-million euro branding and investment programme designed to offer guests the ultimate in luxury at each of The Doyle Collection's hotels in Ireland, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Following consultation with Andrews technical staff, the two new Hi-Flo water heaters were installed in the basement plant room by Croydon-based Capital Mechanical Services Ltd. Phil Roffey, the company's Managing Director, commented, "We used a small crane to lower the new units from the road to the basement and we were very happy with the installation, which went according to plan. There was absolutely no disruption to the operation of the hotel, as pipework alterations were carried out overnight and no changes were required to the flue as the existing arrangements were satisfactory. The Doyle Collection have been very pleased with the products and service provided by all parties involved with this project.”

Andrews Water Heaters Hi-Flo direct fired storage water heaters are perfect for use in hotels and other large commercial and industrial applications. An important part of the hotel experience is a completely reliable supply of hot water which is available 24/7 and the fast recovery rates of the Hi-Flo units ensure this can be achieved, even if there is a constant demand or when demand peaks at specific times. Largest in the Hi-Flo range, the 54/440 models installed at The Bloomsbury Hotel each have a storage capacity of 245 litres and a recovery rate of 1988 litres/hour through a temperature rise of 44oC. They were supplied with unvented systems kits and Correx® powered anodes for corrosion protection.

The water heaters are fitted with the Andrews Hydrojet Total Performance System. This is incorporated in the cold inlet dip tube and is designed to increase turbulence, reduce sediment build-up, reduce thermal stacking and increase delivery.
Another important feature of the Andrews range of water heaters is their tank design which precludes legionella colonisation, even with a build-up of debris, as water at the bottom of the tank reaches at least the same temperature as the rest of the heater.

Available for vented or unvented systems, Andrews Water Heaters are robustly constructed with a heavy gauge steel tank, a Vitraglass® lining and appliance grade enamel external coating. Non-CFC foam insulation ensures low standby losses and models are available for use with conventional, fanned or balanced flues. The extensive range comprises eleven models and all carry the European Standard CE Mark. Andrew Water Heaters is part of Baxi Commercial Division, which also incorporates Potterton Commercial.
